BPC-157 and TB-500: Research Overview of the Pairing Known as the Wolverine Stack

For laboratory research use only

This article summarises published in-vitro and animal-model literature. It contains no dosing, administration, preparation or protocol information, and none should be inferred from it. Neither compound is approved for human or veterinary use.

BPC-157 and TB-500 are two synthetic research peptides that appear together often enough in the preclinical tissue-repair literature that the research community coined an informal name for the pairing: the "Wolverine Stack". The label is shorthand, not science — but the question behind it, why these two compounds are characterised side by side, has a real answer in the published work.

What each compound is

BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide — a fifteen-amino-acid sequence derived from a partial sequence of a protein identified in gastric juice. In in-vitro and animal models it has been examined for angiogenic signalling, growth-factor receptor expression and fibroblast behaviour, and it is notable in the literature for its relative stability in aqueous solution compared with many peptides of similar length.

TB-500 is a synthetic fragment corresponding to the active region of thymosin β4, a naturally occurring actin-sequestering protein. Its documented interest in cell-biology models centres on actin regulation and the cell-migration behaviour that follows from it, which is a different mechanistic axis from the vascular and growth-factor signalling associated with BPC-157.

Why the two are studied together

Because the two peptides are associated with distinct pathways that are nonetheless examined in overlapping experimental models, they are natural comparators. A laboratory characterising cell migration, proliferation or angiogenic signalling in an in-vitro system can run both compounds against the same matched controls in a single experimental series, which is more informative than two disconnected experiments run months apart.

The informal "stack" language originates outside the scientific literature and carries no regulatory or pharmacological meaning. In a procurement context it means only this: the two compounds are commonly bought together, so it is convenient to supply them together.

Separate vials, not a blend

Our BPC-157 + TB-500 stack supplies two separate sealed vials — BPC-157 10 mg and TB-500 10 mg — rather than a pre-blended vial. That distinction matters analytically: each vial has its own batch number, its own HPLC and mass-spectrometry data, and can be characterised independently, so a result can be attributed to one compound rather than to a mixture. Individual vials remain available separately as BPC-157 and TB-500.

Documentation and storage

Each vial ships with a batch-specific certificate of analysis reporting HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity confirmation. Batch codes can be checked through the batch verification page and the lab reports library. For what a credible certificate should contain, see the COA verification guide.

Both compounds are supplied lyophilised in sealed amber vials. General peptide-chemistry principles for storage — frozen sealed storage of dry material, protection from light, avoidance of repeated freeze–thaw cycling — are covered in the peptide storage guide. Handling is governed by the receiving institution's own validated procedures and COSHH assessment. Deeper single-compound background is in the BPC-157 research overview and the TB-500 research overview, with wider procurement context in the research peptides UK buyer's guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Wolverine Stack?

"Wolverine Stack" is informal research-community shorthand for the pairing of two synthetic peptides, BPC-157 and TB-500, studied alongside one another in in-vitro and animal literature on tissue repair and cell migration. It is not a scientific classification, a formulation, or a product with any approved use — it simply describes two research compounds supplied and characterised together.

Why are BPC-157 and TB-500 studied together?

The two peptides are associated with distinct signalling pathways in the published preclinical literature: BPC-157 with angiogenic and growth-factor-related signalling, and TB-500 with actin sequestration and cell-migration behaviour. Because those pathways are examined in overlapping experimental models, researchers frequently characterise the two side by side against matched single-compound controls.

Are BPC-157 and TB-500 supplied pre-blended?

No. Our stack supplies two separate sealed vials — BPC-157 10 mg and TB-500 10 mg — each with its own batch number and certificate of analysis. Keeping them separate lets each be characterised independently, which matters when analytical results have to be attributed to one compound rather than a mixture.

What documentation comes with each vial?

Each vial ships with a batch-specific certificate of analysis reporting HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity confirmation, with the batch code retrievable through our lab reports library and batch verification page. Recording those batch codes alongside experimental records keeps results traceable to documented material.

How should the vials be stored?

Both are supplied as lyophilised powder in sealed amber vials. Lyophilised peptide material is generally most stable frozen and protected from light, and solutions are less stable than dry material, with degradation rates rising with temperature, light and freeze–thaw cycling. The stability window applicable to a given batch is stated on that batch's certificate of analysis.

Can BPC-157 or TB-500 be used in humans?

No. Neither compound is a medicine, supplement or veterinary product, and neither is approved for human or animal use anywhere. Both are supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research by qualified researchers and must not be consumed by or administered to any human or animal under any circumstances.
